I sent a message on Facebook (look in your "Other" messages folder, since I'm not on your friends list), and to an email I found for you, Matthttp://www.mattatkinsonart.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7174089749871447668.post-11919246750653183562014-01-14T16:38:41.647-08:002014-01-14T16:38:41.647-08:00"Blues is a natural fact... is something that..."Blues is a natural fact... is something that a fellow lives. Lots of people start running just to get fit, but find the major benefit is mental/spiritual/psychological- but it does take a while, doesn't it, before the body will allow the run to be as long as the mind would like it to be...I tried again at 50, but it was taking ages just to get the feet in order!. Thank you!

A couple of things came to mind. One is a saying from a banjo player that seems to really help with that timidity that some of us feel when stepping out into more difficult territory: "Ignorance with confidence". I love that one!

The other is that I'm taking up running at 47 and I see so many similarities to what you are talking about. I do want to just be there and not have to do all the hours in order to get closer to that elusive thing that is becoming even more elusive as I learn about it and age. What keeps me going is the tangible fun of the thing, the visceral feel of the doing.

All the best,
ScottScotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12235018874001895714noreply@blogger.com
